What is SEL?
Any why does it matter?
SEL, or Social-Emotional Learning, is the process through which children learn to understand and manage their emotions, build healthy relationships, make responsible decisions, and show empathy for others.
At Wonder Wings Workshop, we believe that emotional growth is just as important as academic growth. Children thrive when they feel seen, heard, and supported—not just as students, but as whole people.

Here’s why SEL is a key part of our program:

Self-Awareness & Confidence
Children learn to identify their feelings, recognize their strengths, and build confidence in who they are.

Friendship & Teamwork
Through collaborative activities, games, and group challenges, students practice sharing ideas, listening to others, and working together respectfully.

Decision-Making Skills
SEL helps children think through their choices, consider others' perspectives, and take responsibility for their actions.

Emotional Regulation & Resilience
Kids gain tools to manage frustration, cope with challenges, and stay calm under pressure—all in a safe, supportive environment.

Empathy & Kindness
From solving problems as a team to caring for the natural world, students practice understanding others and treating people with compassion.
By weaving SEL into everything we do—from group STEM challenges to story-based reflections—Wonder Wings Workshop helps children build the emotional foundation they need to soar academically, socially, and personally.
